Education institutions in support of skilled people

Education institutions support learners’ internationalisation and provide guidance in use of the Europass portfolio. Europass consists of five documents, which aim to help learners and workers demonstrate their competence in other parts of Europe. The documents are used in the same format in all EU/EEA countries.

The National Board of Education is the Finnish Europass Centre. The Europass Centre cooperates with education institutions in order to promote the use of Europass.

Europass documents

The basic Europass document is the Europass Curriculum Vitae (CV), which learners or workers can supplement with other Europass documents as required. These include international supplements to qualification certificates (Europass Certificate Supplement and Europass Diploma Supplement), the Europass Language Passport and the Europass Mobility document.

Europass CV >

Europass users can complete their own Europass Curriculum Vitae (CV). The Europass CV presents the holder’s skills and competences by compiling details of their education and training, work experience, language proficiency and other skills.

Europass Language Passport >

The Europass Language Passport is a document developed by the Council of Europe, which is completed by the holder. The Europass Language Passport enables language learners to describe their language skills using a six-step scale of skills levels.

Europass Mobility >

The Europass Mobility document is a record of any period of time that a person has spent learning in another European country. The sending and host organisations involved in the mobility project are responsible for completing the Europass Mobility document.

Europass Certificate Supplement >

The Europass Certificate Supplement is an appendix to vocational qualification certificates for international contexts, which is used in the same format in all EU/EEA countries. The Supplement provides basic information about the type of education or training completed and the vocational skills and competences that it provides.

Europass Diploma Supplement >

The Europass Diploma Supplement is an appendix to higher education diplomas for use in international contexts. It includes additional information about the qualification completed, the higher education institution that awarded it and on the education system in the country where it was awarded.

Material and Guidance >

Education institutions, guidance and counselling services and other bodies can request training and consultation on Europass from the Finnish National Europass Centre, as well as order Europass information and promotion material.
