Europass users complete their own Europass CV. The document comprises details of education and training, work experience, language proficiency and other skills.
The document is based on a common European format for curriculum vitae. The Europass CV presents key information about its holder in a concise form. The Europass CV provides personal information as well as details about the holder’s educational and training attainments and previous work experience, complete with personal skills and competences acquired during the holder’s life and career that are not necessarily covered by any formal certificates. It is also possible to attach other Europass documents to the CV.
There are two ways of creating a Europass CV
A Europass CV can be created with an electronic tool designed for the purpose and available through the Europass portal. A finished CV is saved on a memory device or sent as an e-mail. The finished CV can at any time be downloaded into the electronic tool for editing. The electronic tool guides the user through all the phases of completing the document.
A blank Europass CV template can be downloaded from the Europass portal. Instructions and examples can also be downloaded from the portal. The Europass CV is filled-in using one’s own computer.
The Finnish National Europass Centre recommends that the Europass CV is created with the electronic tool in the Europass portal. With the help of the tool the filling-in and updating of the Europass CV is the easiest.
